D6 steel is a high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel commonly used in manufacturing and tool making applications. It contains 1.4-2.2% carbon and 11-13% chromium, which gives it excellent wear resistance, toughness, and dimensional stability. D6 steel is often used in forging dies, shear blades, cold and hot work tooling, and other applications where high wear resistance and excellent dimensional stability are required.
